what personal data we collect and why we collect it
account registration details
The information you provide when you create an account is used for the purpose of identifying you when you log in to TheKeynoteLab.com and in order to provide you with the service and information you have signed up for.
This information is saved until your account expires or until you request to delete the information.
We are required by law to save payment and billing information (e.g. Invoices) and we can’t delete them. All payment processing is done via third-party services (e.g. PayPal) so we never store information like Credit Card numbers, bank accounts, etc.)
newsletter registration details
The information you provide when subscribing to The Keynote Lab newsletter will be used for the sole purpose of delivering you the content you approved in the newsletter preferences.
This information is saved until you unsubscribe or until you request to delete the information.
When you join one of our membership plans, you will be added as a newsletter subscriber as well. You can always cancel your newsletter subscription.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Any information you provide in one of the contact forms on the website is used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
We will never use any of the details you provide in a contact form for any other purpose other than providing you the service or information you requested.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited that third-party website.
We use some tools provided by our hosting service provider and third parties like Google Analytics to monitor site performance and security. Some information like IP addresses and website activity might be recorded by these tools.
We are not using any of this data for personal identification purposes.
who we share your data with
The data you provide us directly is not shared with anyone, except where required by law (mainly payment info shared with tax authorities). The only exception for that is when subscribing to our newsletter as mentioned above.
Data collected by external websites using cookies can be read by definition by those websites.
how long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information except for user passwords.
Registered users can request to delete their user information via our Contact page.
what rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes, or data collected by third-party services as listed above.
You can issue an export or deletion request via our Contact page.
where we send your data
